Community Shop Rides
To honor our spirit of commitment to recreational cycling as a means to a healthy lifestyle, Bicycles leads community bicycle rides 3 days per week, weather permitting. Our rides are ‘no-drop’ and ‘non-competitive’, meaning that no rider is left behind and that we are not racing. Ride leaders try to stay with riders in back so that people do not feel that they are holding anyone up.
*** HELMETS ARE REQUIRED. YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO RIDE WITHOUT ONE.
Children 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
During daylight savings our ride times will be as follows:
Tuesday – 6 p.m.
Thursday – 6 p.m.
Saturday – 3 p.m.
These are the two different types of
rides that we try to lead each ride day:
This ride will be shorter with an easy pace. Ride time is approximately one hour with frequent stops to drink fluids and to keep the group together.
Our longer ride can vary from 15-30 miles on week nights running from 1 ½ hours-2 hours. Saturday rides are slightly longer, averaging 2- 2 ½ hours in length and 20-35 miles in distance. Even though these rides roll faster because most participants are on faster road bikes, we are unconcerned about average speed and are only out to enjoy the exercise and companionship!
